What is Byakue Kannon?
It was named Byakue Kannon from the etymology meaning "wearing white clothing."
Among the thirty-three Kannon, which are Kannon Bodhisattvas worshipped only in China and Japan, as opposed to the transformed Kannon born in India.
It was compiled in the Edo period to match the number "thirty-three," which refers to Kannon-sama, who is said to transform into thirty-three forms to save people.
Byakue Kannon is one type of Kannon-sama.
She is also said to be the wife of Amida Nyorai.
She is also the mother of Kannon Bosatsu. Therefore, she is often depicted in a feminine manner.
