A bright-colored Buddhist altar made of popular oak wood, also used for furniture.
The final process, which determines the quality of the Buddhist altar, is also finished by domestic craftsmen, maximizing the texture (wood grain, etc.) of the oak.
Shizuoka Prefecture began with lacquerware production in the Edo period, and Western furniture production started in the mid-Meiji period.
Buddhist altars began to be manufactured as a derivative of furniture in the Showa era, and production has been thriving like furniture to this day.
Because Gratia has a simple structure, great care is taken in the details, such as softly rounded corners, even coating tailored to each piece of wood, and carefully crafted board thickness and curves.
