As of 2024, the sixth season of "Puzzle & Dragons" is currently airing. The soundtrack has previously been released as CD and streaming (Vol.1), streaming (Vol.2), and with this release, it becomes Vol.3, eagerly awaited! Over the past six years, we have recorded seven times, but this album includes recordings from the 5th, 6th, and 7th sessions. The 5th recording features only the ending song "MATSURI!", so the album mainly consists of the soundtrack recordings from the 2nd, 6th, and 7th sessions. The 6th session was recorded during the world champion 玉龍杯 (Gyokuryu Cup) tournament, and the 7th during the space tournament, so the album is divided into two sides like an LP record: Side A, "Puzzle & Dragons Pro League Gyokuryu Cup Edition," and Side B, "Puzzle & Dragons Space Tournament Edition." Each side features a top track: "MATSURI!" and "Puzzle & Dragons March." I hope you enjoy recalling various scenes while listening to the music.
It is especially rare in recent anime for the composer of the soundtrack to also handle the ending theme, and having orchestral music play at the ending is a great honor. Moreover, from the third season to the current fifth season, being responsible for two consecutive ending themes was a heavy responsibility but also an exciting and joyful experience.
As a bonus track for this album, we present a selection from soundtrack Vol.1 & 2: "Symphonic Poem PuzzleTra." It is a single, 15-minute-long piece composed of 11 carefully selected movements, structured as a symphonic poem, offering a rich listening experience!
The cast and staff who have been involved in the production of Puzzle & Dragons over the long span of five years share a trust and teamwork akin to family. The reason this album could be released on CD was thanks to Director Kamegaki’s comment, "I want to listen to the soundtrack on CD," which was a catalyst. They look forward to playing the CD in the car on their way to work, which makes me very happy as a composer.
