Tamiya 1/700 Waterline Series No. 323 Imperial Japanese Navy Light Cruiser Isuzu Plastic Model 31323
This is a plastic model assembly kit of the Isuzu, the second ship of the Imperial Japanese Navy's 5,500-ton class light cruisers, which was completed in 1923. The model reproduces the ship after it underwent conversion work as an anti-aircraft cruiser from January to September 1944 during the latter half of the Pacific War.
The sharp-looking 12.7cm twin high-angle guns, 25mm triple anti-aircraft machine guns, and radar equipment installed on the bridge and mast enhance the presence of the Isuzu as an anti-aircraft cruiser. It is also interesting to explore the Isuzu's 22-year history, from its launch until its sinking by a US submarine attack in April 1945, through this model.
