太平洋戦争後期の昭和19年3月に竣工。日本海軍機動部隊のエースとして大きな期待を集めながら、そのわずか3ヶ月後のマリアナ沖海戦で潜水艦攻撃により太平洋に姿を消した航空母艦、大鳳のプラスチックモデル組み立てキットです。装甲を施された飛行甲板や艦首の外板が飛行甲板にまでつながったエンクローズド・バウと呼ばれる独特なスタイルをあますところなく再現。艦橋部や兵装パーツなどもシャープな仕上がりです。マストは戦闘状態と巡航状態を、エレベーターは上昇した状態と下降した状態を選択可能。零戦52型や天山艦上攻撃機などの艦載機も豊富にセットしました。完成時の全長369mm。
