Ships within 1-5 business days: A best-of album personally selected by Kiyotaka Sugiyama to commemorate his 2nd anniversary. While they were perceived as a refreshing pop band at the time, listening back now reveals influences from David Foster and Ray Parker Jr. throughout their music. Although outside the trend of city pop re-evaluation, they were a rare, leading AOR band in Japan, frequently appearing on charts yet having no notable followers.
The high quality of the songs provided by representative creators of the 80s such as Tetsuji Hayashi, Chinfa Kang, and Yasushi Akimoto goes without saying, and their true abilities are once again realized through the sophisticated arrangements and Sugiyama's rich expressiveness. The album covers their singles, and the other songs are medium to slow tempo, generally following their public image. If their funky songs from around the 2nd album "RIVER'S ISLAND" and 3rd album "NEVER ENDING SUMMER" were also included, it would have been possible to get closer to their true selves. (Taichi Owaki)
