《 Awataguchi KiyonoBU (あわたぐち きよのぶ) 》
Descended from the lineage of Awataguchi sword smiths and Sanjō Kaji Munetsika of Kyoto. The master craftsman Sanjō Kaji Munetsika, who worked on the national treasure "Mikazuki Munetsika," is enshrined at "Kaji Shrine," a sub-shrine of Awata Shrine, located in the Awataguchi area. Following the abolition of swords, the family transitioned to armor production, utilizing their honed metalworking skills. Awataguchi KiyonoBU's armor is characterized by its craftsmanship, meticulously honed through consistent handmade techniques down to the finest details. In 1989, he was certified as a Traditional Craftsman by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. In 2001, he received the "Kyō no Meikō" (Kyoto Master Craftsman) award for outstanding traditional craft techniques in Kyoto Prefecture. He is a master craftsman representing the Kyoto armor world, with a brilliant record in numerous competitions.
