This work, which brought Yokoyama Taikan's name to prominence, is a faithful reproduction of the original painting featuring Mount Fuji as its motif.

As a first-generation student at Tokyo Fine Arts School, he was mentored by Okakura Tenshin and Hashimoto Gahō.He participated in founding the Japan Art Institute and dedicated himself to creating new Japanese paintings.
He received the First Order of Culture and continued to lead the Japanese painting world through the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa eras.He established a unique line drawing technique called "Mōrōtai," characterized by subdued line work.
After his death, he was posthumously awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star, and the Order of the Sacred Treasure, 1st Class.He is an honorary citizen of Ibaraki Prefecture.
