大坂城は豊臣秀吉によって天正１１年（１５８３）、大坂（石山）本願寺跡で築造が開始された。
天守閣は落城や焼失などを経て、昭和６年（１９３１年）市民の寄付金によって復興された。
現在まで９０年以上の歴史を刻み、国の登録文化財にも指定されている。
春に大阪城公園全体を約３０００本の桜が埋め尽くすし遅咲きの八重桜も植えられているので、桜シーズンの最後まで楽しむことができる。
