[Explanation]
The latest installment and final chapter of the "Mononofu Series," which depicts the passionate lives of men who race through the times, "Kakehayabusa Hito Yamato," was performed in Tokyo and Osaka in February 2018. Following the first installment of the series, "Mononofu Shiroki Tora" (2015), which depicted the youth of the Byakkotai, the previous work "Magiru Ookami Kuroki Kamo" (2016) depicted the lives of men living in a new era amidst the Satsuma Rebellion, Japan's largest civil war. This final chapter of the "Mononofu Series" focuses on Noboru Nakajima, a unique member of the Shinsengumi, and depicts the story of the young warriors who raced through time to preserve the sentiments of those who lived by their beliefs and perished before the dawn of the new Meiji era.

[Story]
Noboru Nakajima, who joined the Shinsengumi, was not a skilled swordsman, but he was a man who "drew pictures." As his comrades rushed through the turmoil and perished, he found his own unique role: to preserve the spirit of the Shinsengumi through portraits. Yamato—this was the name of the country that Isami Kondo aimed for, a utopia, a "mahoroba." To the soldiers, the new country was embodied by the very backs of Isami Kondo and Toshizo Hijikata. Before the dawn of the new Meiji era, those who lived by their beliefs and perished. This is the story of the young warriors who raced through time to preserve their sentiments.
