Starring Takuya Kimura, script by Ryoichi Kimizuka, directed by Isao Nakae, the "Kyōjō" series was originally broadcast as New Year’s special dramas in 2020 and 2021, and is now adapted into a continuous drama titled "Kazamado－Kyōjō 0－". In the final scene of "Kyōjō II," it is revealed that the prosthetic eye in Kazama’s right eye was a wound sustained during an attack by an unknown assailant while Kazama was a detective, but the identity of the attacker and the reason for Kazama’s intense grudge against the police organization were not disclosed. This work reveals why Kazama became so cold and ruthless.
The story depicts Kazama before he was assigned as an instructor at the police academy, during his days as a rookie detective being trained as a "detective instructor." This was called the "Kazama Dojo," where inexperienced young detectives were suddenly paired with detective instructor Kazama Kōchika, and learned detective skills through actual murder investigations. It is an on-the-job training (OJT) style investigation where detectives confront perpetrators planning perfect crimes and challenging suspects at crime scenes, testing and learning the basics of investigation.
"Unfortunately, you have no potential. Return to your beat duty. Sign this and bring it back. When do you want to do it? Tomorrow, the day after, or even now?"
This phrase, reminiscent of Kazama in "Kyōjō," signifies that detectives branded as unfit learn Kazama’s investigative methods and feel their own helplessness. Kazama, who sees the truth faster than anyone with both eyes, encourages junior detectives to "think for themselves," guiding the investigation to resolution while also observing and uncovering their secrets and troubles with sometimes coldly sharp insight. Eventually, each junior detective graduates from the "Kazama Dojo"...
This is the story that deeply explores the character of Kazama Kōchika himself, the origin and beginning of the "Kyōjō" series.

【Synopsis】
In 2019, Junji Urawara (Eiji Akaso), a uniformed officer in the regional police, arrests a suspect involved in a certain incident and receives the Chief’s Award. Jōji Mandō (Kōtarō Kobayashi), a coordinator at the prefectural police headquarters’ Investigation Division, orders Urawara to be transferred to the Investigation Division and tells him to wait for contact from Kazama Kōchika (Takuya Kimura).
Kazama is a detective instructor at the Investigation Division of the prefectural police headquarters. He is tasked with pairing inexperienced rookie detectives with him and teaching them necessary detective skills through actual case investigations. His colleagues call this "Kazama Dojo," and Urawara is to learn the basics of detective work through real cases at "Kazama Dojo."
Meanwhile, a taxi passenger is murdered. The victim is Kenta Ashizawa (Yūki Kubota), the owner of a host club. Ashizawa was riding in a taxi with a woman. However, it seems that the woman, who got off earlier, instructed the driver to take Ashizawa, who had fallen asleep drunk, to a specified location.
The driver noticed Ashizawa was dead when he tried to get him out at the designated place. Urawara is ordered by Kazama to listen to the taxi driver’s story. The driver testified that Ashizawa showed the woman a tablet image, claiming it was a "travel record." With Kazama’s advice, Urawara investigates the taxi company and identifies a woman named Yumi Nakayama (Rina Uchida) as a suspect.
