It is richly flavored with coarse sugar from Kikaijima, Kagoshima Prefecture, which is so flavorful it's said to eliminate the need for mirin, sea salt from Tsushima, Nagasaki Prefecture, and kelp dashi made from domestic kelp. No chemical seasonings, animal-derived ingredients, or extracts are used.
