Ayaka Sato, who achieved the first-ever victory by a Japanese national at the Lieksa International Tuba Competition (Finland) in 2018 and has since become a prominent star in the wind instrument world. After completing two years of study abroad in Switzerland, she has begun her full-scale activities in Japan with enhanced musicality. This album is the first release from that.

A highlight is Bach's solo partita. The rich tone of the euphonium connects with Bach's music, creating a sublime and warm world. The album's title track, "Noshita Lamp," commissioned by Sato, is a lyrical work inspired by Sato's experience: "I imagined the sound of the euphonium in the gentle light I saw under the eaves when I returned home." The album is packed with listening highlights, including Waespi's technically demanding piece.
