Fujimi Model 1/3000 Collectible Warship Series No. 99 Battleship Island (Hashima) Plastic Model Warship 99

**Attention, Ruin Enthusiasts!**

A battleship, but not a warship! Battleship Island (Hashima) is now available as part of the 1/3000 Collectible Warship Series! This easy-to-build, palm-sized structure recreates the vibrant era of Japan's high economic growth period with completely new molds.

"Battleship Island," officially named "Hashima," is located in Nagasaki City, Nagasaki Prefecture. From the discovery of coal in the late 1800s until the late 1960s (Showa 40s), it prospered as a coal mining island. After its closure in 1974 (Showa 49), it became an uninhabited island and is famous for its decaying buildings as a ruin. When viewed from the mainland opposite, its silhouette resembles that of a Japanese Navy battleship, earning it the nickname "Battleship Island," which is still known today. Although not a warship, it joins this series due to its name and scale!

**Features:**

* **Reproducibility:** Similar to the rest of the series, the well-designed parts separation and moderately arranged shapes make building enjoyable.
* **Runner Separation:** Runners are divided into "base parts," "residential building parts," and "cranes and ships."
* **Residential Buildings:** The residential buildings on the west side of the island are partially separate parts to reproduce their distinctive features and colors.
* **Sea Surface Plate:** One sea surface reproduction plate molded in blue is included to recreate the surrounding sea.
* **Window Details:** In addition to plastic parts, a service seal and decals are included to reproduce the neatly arranged windows.
* **"Hell Stairs":** The sloping path leading from the northwest to the higher ground, known as the "Hell Stairs," has been reproduced. The southern pool is also recreated with delicate sculpting.
* **Building 65 (Hokoku Dormitory):** The elevator shaft remnants have been shaped.
* **Coal Mining District:** The coal mining district on the east side of the island features separate parts for equipment and accompanying ships to create a three-dimensional appearance.
* **Base Details:** The base integrally expresses characteristic features such as piled coal, a thickener, and the coal mine office building.
* **Island Topography:** The elevated ground running north-south through the center of the island and the densely packed residential buildings on the west side are reproduced in three dimensions.
* **Building 31:** This building is a separate part to represent the belt conveyor for discarding coal waste that runs through the residential building.
* **Building 30:** The central part of Building 30, Japan's oldest reinforced concrete building, with its open central space, has been reproduced.
* **Shaft and Winding Tower:** The vertical shaft and winding tower, which were painted orange or light green depending on the era, are separate parts for easier painting.
* **Cranes and Ships:** Three cranes on the east side, one coal loading transport ship, and one transport boat are included as separate parts.
* **Building 70 (School):** This separate part reproduces the difference in levels due to later additions.
* **Grounds:** The tennis courts that actually existed on the grounds are recreated with delicate sculpting.
* **Customization:** Can be arranged in a modern style depending on how you build it!
