【港町 呉で誕生HUG KURE LAB.】
「HUG KURE LAB. -接ぐクレラボ-」がある広島県呉市は明治以降海軍で栄えた街。
現在も海上自衛隊の基地があり、「HUG KURE LAB. 」の本体である株式会社制服のフジは、1960年に創業し、海上保安庁・海上自衛隊の制服・グッズの製作・販売をしてきました。
その60数年で培った技術・設備を活かし、新たなプロダクトを開発・製作する場として、2021年9月に【HUG KURE LAB.-接ぐクレラボ-】をOPEN。
縫製工場・刺繍工場があるビルの 1 階を“魅せる工場＆ラボ”として改装し、閉まっていたシャッターを開け外を行き交う人から縫製風景が見える場を作りました。
店名の「HUG（はぐ）」は、洋裁用語の一つで、布を縫い合わせる・接ぎ合わせるという意味を持つ「接ぐ」に由来します。
この場所が、 街と人を繋ぐ場になればという想いを込めて「HUG KURE LAB. -接ぐクレラボ-」と命名 しました。
