We are a vinegar maker based in Miyazu, Kyoto. Our founding dates back to the 26th year of the Meiji era (1893).

We have been producing vinegar continuously for 128 years, and the current head, Akihiro Iio, is the fifth generation.

You may have heard of the town of Miyazu.

It is a town facing Wakasa Bay in the Sea of Japan, famous for its delicious fish.

It is also the town where the "Amanohashidate," one of Japan’s three scenic views, is located.

Many are surprised to hear, "Oh, does Kyoto have a sea?"

Even though it is in Kyoto Prefecture, it takes about two hours by train from Kyoto Station.

It is a peaceful rural town surrounded by mountains and the sea.

The area features clean water, rich soil, and a climate with sharp temperature differences.

This natural environment produces excellent rice and, consequently, high-quality vinegar.

Food is the most important thing for human life.

Therefore, we aim to produce "delicious and top-quality vinegar."

This has been our fundamental policy since our founding, using methods that have remained largely unchanged.
