U.C. 0001. A new era begins with the colonization of space. The Prime Minister's official residence of the Earth Federation Government, where the ceremony to transition from the Gregorian calendar to the Universal Century (U.C.) was taking place, the space station "Laplace," is shattered by a terrorist bombing. Siam, a young man who joined the terrorist incident out of poverty, is caught in the explosion of "Laplace" and discovers something amidst the wreckage. It was a forbidden box that would later be known as "Laplace's Box."

U.C. 0096. Three years after "Char's Rebellion," the world, which had been in turmoil since the One Year War, appeared to have regained peace on the surface. Banagher Links, a boy living in the industrial space colony "Industrial 7," meets a mysterious girl named Audrey Burne one day. She is acting alone to stop the transaction of "Laplace's Box" between the Vist Foundation and the Neo Zeon remnants, "The Sleeves." Banagher cooperates with her. However, due to the battle between the Earth Federation Forces and "The Sleeves," who also infiltrated to disrupt the transaction, the colony turns into a battlefield. While searching for Audrey amidst the flames of war, Banagher has a fateful encounter with the pure white mobile suit that holds the key to "Laplace's Box," the Unicorn Gundam.
