The fabric used is 100% pure silk kimono fabric. Pure silk has excellent moisture absorption and release properties, making it a suitable material for storing violins, which are sensitive to humidity changes. The sewing is entirely by hand, supervised by a skilled kimono seamstress, applying the tailoring techniques of kimono to gently envelop the instrument.
The design is a one-of-a-kind piece hand-drawn by Hidekatsu Kinoshita specifically for this artwork.The design depicts "Red Fuji," inspired by the sacred peak of Mt. Fuji, a symbol of Japan. A Japanese poem (waka) is added alongside the scene of Mt. Fuji illuminated by the dawn light.
