This is a best-of album by Miyuki Nakajima, featuring songs that have been used in movies and dramas. It seems to be a strong follow-up to the 1996 release "Daiginjo," but perhaps because the previous album was so substantial, this one feels a bit understated. On the other hand, it can be said that this album allows for a pure enjoyment of the depth of the songs themselves.
While "Kiri no Shigon" (The Meridian of Mist) is included as the theme song for the movie of the same name, perhaps the highlight is track <9>, which is widely known as the theme song for her stage play "Yakai" (Night Gathering), in which she herself appeared. It is a grand song that sings of heart-wrenching sorrow and unparalleled deep love. The inclusion of the masterpiece <6>, which was inexplicably omitted from "Daiginjo," is also a welcome addition.
