"Daitokai PART II" can be said to be a work that co-starred the three great stars: Yujiro Ishihara, Tetsuya Watari, and Yusaku Matsuda.
Following "Daitokai - Tatakai no Hibi -", "Daitokai PART II," which was broadcast from April 1977, significantly changed its direction from the previous work, becoming a highly entertaining piece with added hard action and humor.
Kuroiwa, played by Tetsuya Watari, also changed his affiliation from the Fourth Investigation Division of the Josai Police Station to the First Investigation Division, and Yujiro Ishihara also changed his role from a newspaper reporter to Dr. Goro Munakata, a surgeon at Shibuya Hospital.
A detective and a doctor. A man who pursues those who commit crimes, and a man who helps those wounded by crime.
The relationship between the two men, who share the common goal of protecting human lives, cooperating with each other, and sometimes confronting each other, yet are bound by a strong bond, is depicted in a way that carries over from the previous work.
A key point in this work is the addition of Yusaku Matsuda. The detective persona Matsuda created here is different from the "Jeans" detective in "Taiyo ni Hoero!" or Detective Nakano in "Oretachi no Kunsho" that he had played up to that point.
His performance, which added subtle humor to the image of a tough, violent detective, left a strong impression.
