ASA-CHANG & Junrei, who handled the music for the film "Gōsō" starring a luxurious cast including Yūya Yagira, Kōji Seto, Tenma Okayama, Mugi Kadowaki, Minami Sakurai, and Jō Odagiri, collaborated with narration by Kahimi Karie, creating a unique collaboration.
Their music, filled with tribal and abstract vibrations, has been highly evaluated both domestically and internationally, and has been featured in media around the world, making it very popular among core music fans. ASA-CHANG & Junrei are responsible for the music of the film "Gōsō".
While overflowing with elements of experimental music, it also features beautiful harmonies of the glockenspiel, the refreshing vocals of Curly Giraffe, and trumpet sounds that strangely blend into the world setting set in the Meiji era.
This work is not only a soundtrack for the film but also their first recording in about 6 years, condensing their artistic identity and career.
The original work is a masterpiece manga of the same name by the genius manga artist Hinako Sugiura, who passed away 10 years ago this year. It was serialized in the legendary manga magazine "Garo" and received the Excellence Award from the Japan Cartoonists Association.
It departs from traditional "period dramas" and depicts a realistic youth image that resonates with modern young people, creating a significant impact.
The screenplay was written by Aya Watanabe, known for "Jose to Tora to Sakana-tachi" and the TV drama "Carnation".
The director is the emerging talent Tatsuo Kobayashi.
