Mariko Senju made her professional debut at age 12 in the 1st "Young Buds Concert" performing with the NHK Symphony Orchestra, and will celebrate her 50th debut anniversary in 2025.
In terms of record recordings, she has left numerous recordings from her debut at Victor, through Toshiba EMI, to Universal Music.
Now, it has been decided to release a BEST album for Mariko Senju, her first in 10 years.
Focusing on recordings with her beloved Stradivarius and Duranthi, which she has used since 2002, the album features numerous violin masterpieces including Vivaldi's "Chaconne," Ysaÿe's Sonata No. 3, Beethoven's "Spring Sonata," Kreisler's "Liebesfreude" and "Liebesleid," Sarasate's "Zigeunerweisen," and of course her brother Akira Senju's composition "Lullaby Andante," among others, carefully selected as the best tracks.
Additionally, recordings from her early days, considered RARE, are also planned to be included.
The artwork features a portrait by her older brother, Hiroshi Senju.
This release marks a significant milestone in her half-century-long musical career, titled "BEST & RARE." This year, we look forward to enjoying this thoroughly while waiting for a new "mark" in 2025.
