スペインのフアン・マルク財団が立ち上げたレーベルの第1弾リリースとして、1977年に財団のホールで行われたモンポウの初出ライヴが登場。『ひそやかな音楽』第4集の自演ライヴはこれが初めてとのことです。静寂を音楽で表現しようとするかのようなこれらの作品が、ライヴならではの緊張感の中で紡がれています。併せて収録されている『ポール・ヴァレリーの詩による5つの歌曲』は、モンポウと同じくカタルーニャの出身で、指導者としても著名であったソプラノ歌手、モンセラート・アラベドラ(1946-91)による歌唱。音源は2021年にレストアとリマスターが施され、モノラルながらたいへん質感の高い音になっています。
