The title of the new album is 『Best Damn Thing』. The first single is "Girlfriend." I'm sure everyone will really like it! I also really like it. It has a sense of speed, is fun, energetic, powerful, confident, and full of energy. The new album contains only songs that are super fun to perform live, and I kept that in mind when writing the songs. My experience from the previous tour was very helpful in creating this album. As an artist, I spend a lot of time on tour, so I just wanted to make songs that are fun to perform live. It's fun for fans and for myself!

【Work Introduction】
The lead first single "Girlfriend" is an upbeat, punkish rock tune that cheerfully shouts, "I will become your girlfriend, and then you will definitely be happy!".
The producer is Dr. Luke, who also collaborated on "Keep Holding On" and is a good friend of Avril’s, as well as a highly successful producer (Backstreet Boys, P!NK, Kelly Clarkson, etc.). The song is an Avril-like upbeat rock track reminiscent of "Sk8er Boi," with a touch of rap elements, creating a completely new and powerful Avril sound! Once you hear it, you'll want to sing and dance along—truly a new girl anthem! Avril is also performing her first dance in the PV!

Additionally, the second single from the second album, "My Happy Ending," was produced by the talented producer Butch Walker, who also worked on it. It is a beautiful, moving, and bittersweet ballad "When You're Gone," and the album's title track "The Best Damn Thing" are both powerful tracks with pop appeal, catchiness, and Avril’s signature style, almost capable of being a first single.
Furthermore, Avril, who married in June 2006 (this third album is her first album after marriage), has two songs (Track 10 "One Of Those Girls" and Track 11 "Contagious") produced by her life partner, Derrick Wibley (SUM41). (Derrick also played guitar on three tracks of the album!) Although Avril is now extremely happy and openly talks about her happiness in the media, reflecting her most shining self as a person, girl, and artist, this album is her best work ever.

Additionally, the song "Keep Holding On," written for the blockbuster adventure film "Eragon: The Inheritance," which was released nationwide in Japan as a large New Year movie in December 2006, is included. She was approached by the film company and wrote the song based on her feelings along the film's scenario, describing her songwriting style as "very challenging and a learning experience as a songwriter." She performed a grand, beautiful ballad that rivals the scale of the epic film. Besides this song, there are other beautiful ballads, and she says, "I truly felt that way when I wrote those songs."
Meanwhile, Rob Cavallo, who has worked with Green Day, My Chemical Romance, The Goo Goo Dolls, and others, is also credited as a producer (Track 8 "Innocence"), resulting in a more diverse content than ever before!!
