The cello's refined yet eloquent sound is accompanied by the harp. A combination of string instruments, said to possess the most human-like expressiveness, and the harp, which embodies not only aristocratic, salon-like elegance and grace, but also a theatrical atmosphere and mythic quality. The multifaceted and deeply profound world of song born from this pairing is captivating. It is also noteworthy that two harps are used in half of the tracks, including "The Swan," to create a sense of textural richness and spaciousness. The charm of hearing "Kol Nidrei," the program's longest piece, performed in this configuration is also significant. While respecting the harp's role in the original piece (making its first appearance at the end of the cello's monologue that closes the first half, and consistently playing an important role with arpeggiated figures in the second half), it seems to further enhance the work's devout mood. Please listen to the healing melodies while fully appreciating the dense chamber music-like dialogue performed by skilled players.
