Completed in March 1902 (Meiji 35), she became the flagship of the Combined Fleet in December of the following year and fought in the Russo-Japanese War under Commander-in-Chief Togo Heihachiro.In the Battle of the Sea of Japan, she led Japan to victory with the "T-shaped tactic" and "Togo Turn."
