【Overview】
The original work is a comic of the same name by Tomohiro Koizumi, known for its cult popularity due to themes such as the fluctuating emotions of young people and distorted emotional expressions (published by Aobayashi Kōgeisha). Published in 2001 and highly popular, it was considered impossible to adapt into a film—yet it has finally been made into a movie, marking the "pinnacle of virginity manga" becoming a long-awaited film adaptation.
The awkward yet somehow endearing "Cherryp Boys" feature a cast of emerging young actors.
- Kunii (Kunii Morihiro): played by Kento Hayashi, who has shown versatile acting in works like "Namiya Zakkaten no Kiseki" and "HIGH&LOW THE MOVIE."
- Yoshimura (Yoshimura Tatsuya): played by Shuntaro Yanagi, active as a distinctive actor in "Tokyo Ghoul" and "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable Part 1," while also working as a model for "MEN'S NON-NO."
- Takasugi (Takasugi Makoto): played by Tomoya Maeno, a young talented actor known for his role as Otoshimaru in the "au Sandaime Series" CM, and appearances in "Katte ni Furuetero" and "Usobaka."
Their earnest efforts at silly endeavors evoke much laughter and empathy.
The heroine, Fueko, played by Elaiza Ikeda, is a Madonna-like figure and has appeared in refreshing youth films such as "Ichirei shite, Kiss" and "Trigirl!" Her daring scenes are also noteworthy.
The film is directed by Daigo Matsui, known for works like "Azumi Haruko wa Yukue Fumei" and recognized as a creator with a unique worldview. Based on the screenplay by Kenichiro Nishai, making his feature film debut, the film is produced under his direction.
The theme song is "GO!GO!Cherry Boy!" by MANNISH BOYS, a rock unit consisting of Kazuyoshi Saito and Tatsuya Nakamura. Although released in 2014, it is a pre-existing song, and this collaboration—connecting to the "Cherryp Boys"—is a dream come true!
【Story】
In a certain regional city, three clueless friends—"Kunni" (Morihiro Kunii), a boastful guy struggling with his music career in Tokyo; "Bitchiku" (Tatsuya Yoshimura), a handsome guy with a nipple complex; and "Kauper" (Makoto Takasugi), a typical otaku—are all 25 years old and still virgins. Their conversations and thoughts revolve solely around complaints about the unsuccessful world and women and sex.
These men, deemed losers, target the local gossip-monger Shaku Fueko and hatch an outrageous plan to change their lives and themselves.
Now, onto the great mission to lose their virginity!
