[About the Film]
This film, the first directorial debut for Daisuke "Dice" Tsutsumi and Robert Kondo, who served as Art Directors for "Toy Story 3" and "Monsters University," was officially screened at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2014. It has since won over 20 awards at international film festivals worldwide and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film in 2015.
[Story]
The story is set in an era when the world was covered in air pollution.
There was a small town that had survived, unaffected by the polluted air and dark clouds.
The town was protected from the cursed atmosphere by a large dam.
The protagonist is a young pig boy. He has no family or friends.
The job of Dam Keeper, passed down through generations, is now carried out by the boy alone. His task is to wind the gears of a windmill every eight hours to push the polluted air outside the dam.
The townspeople, having lived in peace for a long time, had forgotten who operated the dam, or even what lay beyond it.
One day, a fox transfer student arrives at his school.
Meeting the cheerful fox, who loves to draw, becomes a turning point that significantly changes the boy's life.
