Mag Shield

Daiwa's unique waterproof structure that creates a magnetic oil wall between the body and rotor to block intrusion of seawater, dust, etc. Since the body and rotor are contactless, smooth rotation is maintained while preserving initial rotational performance over a long period. Many causes of rotational noise are salt gumming and foreign matter intrusion. Except for cases where water is accidentally dropped, the rotational noise occurrence rate of mag-shielded reels is significantly reduced. Moreover, this ratio tends to show a greater difference as time passes, indicating that the longer the use, the more effective it becomes. This demonstrates that the dustproof and waterproof capabilities of the mag shield are at a very high level.

Air Rotor

An air rotor with a structure that can be called a revolution of the rotor. Its unique rim structure disperses load, achieving significant weight reduction with the same strength as conventional models. Rotor balance is also improved, resulting in responsive rotation.
