The Takács Quartet, founded in 1975 and highly acclaimed worldwide for their performances and numerous recordings, appears on Yarlung Records. This album also features bandoneonist and composer Julian Labro, as well as the genre-defying pianist, vocalist, and popular composer Clarice Assad. The album includes Labro's "Meditation No. 1," supported by the captivating rhythms of South American tango; Clarice's "Luminous," with the passion characteristic of Brazilian jazz, and her three-part "Constellation"; and Saariaho's "Nocturne." The natural and dense spatial representation, typical of this label's recordings, is also appealing to audiophiles.

One take without editing for each track (1 track).
One-point recording using an AKG C24 condenser microphone, formerly owned by Frank Sinatra.
Recorded directly in three formats: Yarlung's custom tube microphone amplifier and SHI technology (explained below), with final sound quality adjustments made at the recording site.
Analog (Sonorus ATR12 recorder + Agfa Formula 468 tape), DSD256 (Merging Technologies HAPI), and PCM (Sonorus AD converter).
No mixing or post-production work. The master was completed at the recording site.
*SHI = Abbreviation for Sonorus Holographic Imaging. A new real-time processing technology in the analog domain that provides a three-dimensional sound image and a sense of depth and realism even on standard stereo equipment, based on the sound field information of the recording site included in the stereo recording.
