This is a convenient silicone mold that can be used with natural drying clay including resin clay, oven-bake clay, UV resin, and two-part epoxy resin that harden through chemical changes. You can make a full-fledged miniature coffee cup. If you want to finish with a pottery-like appearance, we recommend using clay.
It is ideal for combining with miniature sweets, miniature bread, miniature food, and dollhouses.
【How to use】
First, pour slightly more than half of UV resin into the outer mold.
Next, insert the lid mold and cure it. (Pouring resin overflowing makes bubbles less likely to form)
After curing, remove it from the mold. Remove excess flash with nippers, scissors, nails, etc., and it is complete.
*If it is difficult to remove from the mold, applying a release agent such as baby oil between the mold and the resin or clay will help it come out smoothly.
Examples of usage with similar designs【Notes on this design mold】
■ Epoxy → It has low viscosity and may leak. In that case, fix the mold with an acrylic plate or similar and secure with a rubber band.
Since it is not a mirror finish, it will appear cloudy after removal. Polishing with an abrasive will make it more transparent.
~ To achieve a more mirror-like finish ~
First, spray a release agent onto the mold, use a two-part mixed resin, and after curing and removing, polish with a soft cloth and abrasive. Finally, spray a release agent again and wipe lightly for a cleaner surface.
■ UV resin → Since it is not a mirror finish, it will appear cloudy after removal. Applying UV resin or gloss varnish twice to coat the surface will give a nice finish. Whether polishing is possible depends on the UV resin used.
Use a craft stick or similar to poke and burst bubbles. If bubbles form, applying resin to the mold’s grooves with a stiff brush before pouring resin can reduce bubbles.
*Not suitable for use with silicone-based materials.
*Materials other than natural drying clay have a limit to their durability due to chemical changes.
