This is a convenient silicone mold that can be used with air-dry clays such as resin clay, oven-bake clays, and chemically hardening materials like UV resin and two-part epoxy resins. Using resin allows you to create authentic miniature glasses. It is ideal for use with miniature sweets, miniature bread, miniature food, and dollhouses.
**How to Use:**
1. First, pour a little more than half of the UV resin into the outer mold.
2. Next, insert the lid mold and cure. (Filling the mold to the brim with resin makes it less likely for air bubbles to form.)
3. After curing, remove from the mold. Trim any excess flash with nippers, scissors, or your fingernail to complete.
* If the mold is difficult to remove, apply a mold release agent such as baby oil between the mold and the resin or clay for smooth removal.
* If the resin leaks, secure the mold with a rubber band and cure.
**Notes Regarding This Design Mold:**
■ Epoxy Resin: Since it is not a mirror finish, it will appear cloudy after curing and removal. Polishing with an abrasive polish will result in a more transparent finish.
~ To Achieve a Mirror Finish ~
First, spray the mold with mold release spray, use a two-part mixed resin, and after curing and removal, polish with a soft cloth and abrasive polish. Finally, spray again with mold release spray and lightly wipe to achieve a cleaner surface.
■ UV Resin: Since it is not a mirror finish, it will appear cloudy after curing and removal. Applying two coats of UV resin or a glossy varnish will create a beautiful finish. Whether abrasive polish can be used depends on the UV resin you are using.
Pop air bubbles by poking them with a crafting tool. If air bubbles form, apply resin to the grooves of the mold with a stiff brush before pouring the resin to make air bubbles less likely to form.
* Cannot be used with silicone-based materials.
* For materials other than air-dry clay, there is a limit to their durability due to chemical changes.
