This mold can be used with materials that cure through chemical reactions, such as oven-bake clay, silver clay, resin, acrylic powder, UV gel, and expanded urethane, as well as regular air-dry clay.
Simply fill the mold with clay or other materials and remove to easily create cute hemispherical parts. You can also join two halves to form a sphere.
The mold is UV-transparent, allowing it to be used with UV-curable materials.
**How to Use with Clay:**
1. Apply a release agent such as petroleum jelly to the mold with a brush.
2. Fill both halves of the mold with clay and measure the amount.
3. Remove the clay from the mold, roll it into a ball by hand, and place it in the mold to form a sphere.
4. Remove the top half of the mold and check the sphere for any excess clay or lines. If lines are present, roll the sphere to change the line position, re-insert it into the mold, and repeat the process several times before removing to complete.
**When Using with Resin:**
This mold does not have a pouring gate. Therefore, pour resin into each half separately, cure, and then join them together.
**Important Notes Regarding This Design Mold:**
This mold is primarily designed for clay. UV resin has significant shrinkage, which may cause the sphere to become misaligned. When creating spheres with UV resin, it is recommended to make two hemispherical shapes and then join them together.
* **Epoxy Resin:** Since the mold is not a mirror finish, the cured pieces will appear cloudy upon removal. Therefore, polishing with an abrasive compound is necessary.
* **UV Resin:** Since the mold is not a mirror finish, the cured pieces will appear cloudy upon removal. Additionally, lines may appear on the surface due to heat generated during curing. Applying a second coat of UV resin to coat the surface will result in a cleaner finish. Abrasive compounds cannot be used.
* Materials that cure through chemical reactions, such as resin, will become unusable after approximately 20-30 uses. Silicone materials cannot be used as they will bond with the curing material.
**Size:** 20mm, 18mm, 16mm (Note: Clay and resin shrink after curing, so the finished size will differ.)
