A level wind linkage structure that enables smooth line release.

In light jigging, which assumes the use of thin lines, smooth drag performance is essential. However, even with high-performance drags, if the line is at an angle, it may not respond to sudden pulls. The Grapper BB adopts a high-performance level wind linkage to significantly reduce resistance during line release. By linking the spool rotation with the level wind, it can always feed the line straight regardless of its position, preventing line breakage due to wobbling. It also allows quick delivery of the jig to the seabed during falls, enabling strategies that utilize the benefits of thin lines.

A compact body that is easy to grip and highly rigid.

The Grapper BB uses a lightweight, highly rigid aluminum HAGANE body for the frame. Compared to the 16 Grapper BB, it has significantly increased rigidity, reducing deformation and distortion of the reel body. This maintains delicate gear meshing and allows smooth reeling. The compact body, made 1.6mm lower profile than the 16 Grapper BB, is easier for anglers with small hands to grip and enables stable, powerful winding. Its lightweight and compact form reduce fatigue during long jigging sessions, and the rigid HAGANE body protects internal structures, ensuring that the force applied to the handle is efficiently transmitted without loss. This allows for high-quality performance throughout the day.

Waterproof mechanism X-Protect first installed in BB class.

By combining waterproof barriers and special water-repellent grease, seawater intrusion into the drive gear shaft bearing is strongly guarded against, reducing troubles caused by salt crystallization in the bearing. It can be used under harsh conditions, and its initial performance is maintained over a longer period.
