The 11 songs recorded for this album are not only known for Sinatra's singing but are also masterpieces from the Great American Songbook, representing America, and are brought back to life with Willie's unique interpretation. "That's Life," sung by Sinatra and released in 1966, reached number 4 in the US and recently gained attention when it was used in the movie "Joker." Here, it becomes the album title track, featuring Willie's profoundly calm and enlightened vocals. A duet with Diana Krall is realized on "I Want to Dance." The recording was done at Capitol Studios in Hollywood, where Sinatra also recorded, and Grammy-winning engineer Al Schmitt was brought in for mixing, demonstrating the meticulous attention to detail. The album jacket is finished in a painterly style reminiscent of Sinatra in his prime, making it a work full of homage to Frank Sinatra.
