【July advance order】【SHM-CD】【Semi-new release / Encore press】【This year marks the 55th anniversary of ECM!】
In 1969, the legendary charismatic producer Manfred Eicher founded ECM in Munich, Germany, which is one of Europe's leading jazz labels, abbreviation of "Edition of Contemporary Music." The concept at the time of the label's founding was "Music more beautiful than silence." Its transparent sound, clear audio quality, and sophisticated, beautiful jacket design, which distinguish it from other labels, have captivated many fans worldwide.
It has produced numerous jazz masterpieces such as Keith Jarrett's "The Köln Concert" (1975), Chick Corea's "Return to Forever" (1972), and Pat Metheny's "Bright Size Life" (1976).
In 1984, ECM expanded into the classical music world by launching the "ECM New Series," focusing on contemporary music, with new works by Arvo Pärt, Gidon Kremer, Heinz Holliger, and others.
Manfred Eicher, who turned 80 last year, continues to record more than 20 new works annually, remaining one of the most active labels in the pursuit of music.
● This is an encore press of the "ECM Revisits" series released in 2022, commemorating ECM's 55th anniversary.
● This series mainly features currently active artists, showcasing the ongoing ECM.
This is Dominique Miller's ECM debut released in 2017, supporting big artists like Sting and Paul Simon.
● It includes original tracks that embody ECM's aesthetic, such as the duet album with beautiful guitar and percussion, featuring the legendary Brazilian guitarist Baden Powell with the song "Fields of Gold" by Sting, a tribute to Baden, influenced by French music with "Le Pont," and "Varium," which inherits Scottish style from Bert Jansch.
