This sun-dried salt, rich in nutrients derived from seawater and the soil of salt fields, undergoes our proprietary "high-temperature calcination" process. This process concentrates the inorganic salts, which are the components of the salt, increasing their levels.

◆ Kipower Salt is a safe salt that decomposes and eliminates harmful substances through high-temperature calcination
The base of Kipower Salt is traditional Korean roasted salt. At Kipower Corporation, we focused on this traditional "roasting" process and its temperature, developing our own high-temperature calcination patent method (Patent No. 2092094).
If the calcination temperature is too low, harmful substances such as dioxins and environmental hormones cannot be fully decomposed or eliminated.
Through research, we found that calcining at temperatures above 800°C up to 1200°C causes many non-metallic compounds such as oxygen and nitrogen in the salt to vaporize, breaking them down into simple inorganic compounds.
At the same time, organic compounds like dioxins are either eliminated or converted into inorganic substances.
To verify safety, we commissioned public institutions in Japan and Korea to test for pollutants.
Results from the Japan Food Analysis Center, a public foundation in Japan, showed no detection of nine types of environmental hormones (including PCBs and trisubstituted tin compounds used as disinfectants).
Similarly, Korea’s National Institute of Industrial Technology conducted analysis for dioxins (PCDD + PCDF) and detected a value of 0.0 pg (picograms, one trillionth of a gram). *See Image 3*

◆ The reducing power of Kipower Salt created through high-temperature calcination
The ORP (Oxidation-Reduction Potential) value of typical tap water we drink daily is about +500 mV, indicating a positive value.
An ORP tester shows that the more negative the value, the stronger the reducing (antioxidant) power, while a higher positive value indicates a stronger oxidizing power. *See Image 4*
What happens to particles when they are calcined at high temperature for a long time?
Using an electron microscope, we observe the particles.
Before calcination, coarse salt crystals are cubic, six-faced, with a size of about 5 mm.
Under the microscope, the surface of these salt crystals shows bumps and attached inorganic salts.
After calcination, viewing the same crystals at the same magnification, they appear as powder.
At higher magnification, the particles are extremely small—about 1/35 of the original size (diameter 0.014 mm)—and their shape changes from cubic to potato-like.
The inorganic salts become even finer, embedding into the salt particles, with a diameter of approximately 1.5 nm (nanometers, one-billionth of a meter).
Furthermore, coarse salt calcined at temperatures above 800°C has unstable elements (molecules).
These elements can bind with unstable substances like oxides, triggering reduction reactions.
◆ Development background: The salt of longevity inherited from descendants of the Silla royal family
The ancient kingdom of Silla occupied the eastern half of Korea.
The lineage of the "Gyeongju Kim clan" begins with the last Silla king, "King Gyeongsun," as an ancestor.
Currently, the 37th generation, Kim Jong-hak, inherited a special method of salt production.
This method is said to be based on natural science, pharmacology, and medicinal research rooted in the theory of the five elements (Yin-Yang and Five Phases), discovered empirically through the process of high-temperature salt roasting.
This secret salt was produced once a year, supplied as monastery meals, and the remaining salt was used by the family.
This salt later traveled from Korea to Japan, and behind the inheritance of this method by our company from the Kim family are many stories.
◆ An unshared salt that repaid the gratitude received from grandfather
The 35th generation, Kim Ju-hwan, studied in Japan. During the Great Kanto Earthquake, he was affected, and he experienced severe racial discrimination afterward.
His host at the time protected him desperately and secretly helped him escape back to his homeland.
Kim Ju-hwan wished to someday repay this life-saving kindness but passed away before he could.
However, this wish was passed down within the family.
Later, Hideo Ueda, who became the developer of Kipower Salt, married Kim Sun-hee, the sister of the 37th generation.
This was the catalyst for Ueda to research the "Secret Salt Method."
The photo shows an ancient kiln and a burning kiln built at the highest point of spiritual energy transmission, which served as the origin of the current Kipower Salt.
To produce Kipower Salt on a full scale, in 2001, we acquired the salt factory Shimizu Food in Korea and expanded production to Japan.
This was only possible because the descendants inherited the desire to repay the Japanese grandfather, Kim Ju-hwan.
