A wide variety of instruments are used to unleash the free-spirited imagination of Daisuke Fujikura.
Following works such as "Manayachana" (2014), "My Letter to the World" (2016), "Chance Monsoon" (2017), "Diamond Dust" (2018), "Zawazawa" (2019 / winner of the 2019 Record Academy Award for Contemporary Music), "Turtle Totem" (2020), and "Glorious Clouds" (2021), the latest album featuring the works of composer Daisuke Fujikura, who resides in London, is now available again this year. This album also features a rich variety of Fujikura’s vast musical world, with Western and Eastern instruments from ancient to modern times, including string quartet, Hōshō, alto flute & guitar, harp, koto, shamisen, bass clarinet, natural horn, chamber ensemble, biwa & viola da gamba. As with previous works, Fujikura himself handled editing, mixing, and mastering, pursuing the sound that the composer envisions. This release coincides with the “Boncre Festival,” a contemporary and modern music festival curated by Daisuke Fujikura, now in its sixth year, which will be held in July.
