Description:
Simply lay this cover to refresh your tatami room. Use it to refresh sun-faded tatami or as a protective cover for new tatami. Made with domestically produced (Kyushu-produced) igusa, 115-120cm in length. Approximately 88cm of this length is used. The edges may appear slightly whitish. (This is not sun fading, but the color of the root and tip ends of the igusa.) Longer igusa is considered more premium. Igusa has reddish-brown tips, white roots, and a green middle section. Using more of the good quality green middle section results in a more durable and beautiful finish. Igusa will fade over time with use, but igusa with more of the green middle section will fade evenly and beautifully, developing a unique character. Made with domestically produced (Kyushu-produced) igusa. Domestic igusa is thick, has a dense fiber structure with a thick epidermis, providing excellent elasticity and durability. Igusa has air purifying and humidity regulating properties, and is resistant to dirt. Treated with Aomori Hiba processing (antibacterial and deodorizing effects). Can be used on both sides, making it economical.
