The player is a girl who dreams of becoming a manga artist. Using the "drawing tool" that fully utilizes the DS's features, she creates her own works and submits them to the Ciao editorial department (in-game). Ultimately, the player can debut as a manga artist at the ending by receiving awards such as the "Ciao Grand Prize," "Ciao Gold Prize," and "Ciao Silver Prize," based on the evaluation of their submitted works and the results of mini-games (four categories: technique, knowledge, sense, and motivation). This is a simulation game where you raise your character.

Players can create original works using the drawing tool on their home computer within the game. All works can be saved and exchanged via communication (up to 18 pieces). As the game progresses, players can submit their works from their home computer once a month. They will be evaluated based on three elements: creation time, number of operations, and number of colors used. Based on these scores, they can win the "Ciao Bronze Prize," "Nice Prize," "Challenge Prize," and "Ciao Prize," and earn points. As the game progresses further, players will be able to bring their works directly to the Ciao editorial department. Players can receive advice on their works at each location, which will boost their creative motivation.

Advice regarding works will be given by the manga shop owner, editorial staff, and three manga artist instructors. Since the work evaluation is based on the level of detail (creation time, number of operations, number of colors used), even young children can debut as manga artists.

The original art features cute girls that aspiring manga artists will want to draw, naturally improving their drawing skills. All traced and colored works can be saved and submitted to the Ciao editorial department. The manga dictionary expands as the game progresses, and can be referenced at any time when content is unclear.

Players can choose from 9 types of player faces, and at the beauty shop, they can change their hairstyle and hair color from over 40 combinations. Over 50 types of clothing can also be purchased. As the game progresses, players can obtain interior goods at the game center. There are over 190 types of goods in total, including stuffed animals, cushions, and wallpapers. Clothes and interior goods can be exchanged via communication.
