Yuji (Mirai Moriyama) and Mika (Eriko Sato) experienced the earthquake as children and now live in Tokyo. They meet by chance in Kobe the day before the "Memorial Gathering" and spend time together until the morning of the 15th anniversary of the earthquake. Mika is determined to participate in this year's "Memorial Gathering" to confront the emotional scars left by the earthquake, while Yuji insists he only stopped in Kobe "for no particular reason" on his business trip. A wide gap seems to exist between the two, who had vastly different experiences of the earthquake. However, when they arrive at "a certain place," Mika catches a glimpse of the past that Yuji has been carrying for many years.
