Masato Sakai stars as Nakamura. Wearing thick-lensed glasses, he transforms into a lackluster middle-aged man, revealing a new side never seen before. Meanwhile, Takayuki Yamada delivers a haunting performance as Kijima, a character harboring unfathomable loneliness beneath his violent behavior. The rest of the star-studded cast—including Hirofumi Arai, Tomorowo Taguchi, Go Ayano, Mitsuki Tanimura, and Sakura Ando—comes together to weave a dense human drama.
The director is Masaaki Akahori, who has written, directed, and performed in every production of the theater company [THE SHAMPOO HAT] since its founding. For this film adaptation, he revised the script of his 2007 play (in which he also starred) and took on the challenge of directing it himself. His directorial skills have been highly acclaimed at international film festivals, including the Montreal World Film Festival and the London Film Festival.

The loneliness, conflicts, and desires of these two men and those around them are explored. Finally, on the night of the fifth anniversary of his wife's death, the two men confront each other. As their souls collide, the blade Nakamura points at Kijima is something unexpected. What are Nakamura's true feelings...?
