Set the ginkgo nut horizontally in the cracker so that the ridges of the shell are facing up and down. Squeeze the handle to crack the shell.
Adjust the setting position according to the size of the ginkgo nut. Smaller ginkgo nuts are easier to crack when set closer to the tip, and larger ginkgo nuts are easier to crack when set closer to the handle.
