About the Artist - Soujirou Fujitani Soujirou (Fujitani Soujirou)
Biography:
- Born in Hyogo Prefecture in 1966.
- Graduated from Osaka Designer College PD Course in 1989.
- Worked at an illustration production company before becoming independent in 1994.
- Established S&R ILLUSTRATION in 1995.
- Served as a part-time instructor at Osaka Designer College PD Course in 1996.
- Changed the business name to S and R (illustrations) in 2005.
- Started selling original works (Giclée prints) in 2011.
- Held his first solo exhibition at Heiwa Paper Industry Paper Voice Osaka in 2012.
- Member of JAGDA (Japan Graphic Designers Association).
He has over 23 years of experience in commercial advertising illustration, working on more than 300 illustrations for product packages, catalogs, posters, etc. His primary technique is analog, realistic illustration. His original works, developed through analog skills, depict themes of houseplants and nature, emphasizing the importance of environmental issues in a digital environment.
About Giclée (Printmaking):
Giclée (also called digital lithography) is a printmaking technique that uses the latest digital technology. The word "Giclée" in French means "sprayed with color," referring to the process of directly spraying ink onto print paper, canvas, or other specialized papers based on digital data. It offers very high reproducibility, uses pigment inks for excellent lightfastness, and is currently considered the most faithful to the original artwork among printmaking techniques.
