■ FeaturesAfter Guard is...A slightly sweet "ointment type" medication for mouth sores. It has excellent adhesion to the oral mucosa and protects mouth sores.Triamcinolone acetonide, which has anti-inflammatory effects, reduces inflammation of the affected area and improves mouth sores.
What are Mouth Sores (Aphthous)?This is a general term for inflammation characterized by one to several shallow, small ulcers (less than 10 mm in diameter) with a whitish-yellow center and a reddish border, occurring on the inside of the cheeks, tongue, or under the lips. The exact cause is unclear, but stress, fatigue, or unbalanced nutrition are said to be contributing factors.
■ Do Not Do(Failure to follow these instructions may worsen current symptoms or increase the risk of side effects.)1. Do not use the following people:(1) People suspected of having infectious stomatitis. (Consult a doctor, dentist, pharmacist, or registered seller.)* People with white patches in the entire mouth that can be easily peeled off by rubbing with gauze. (Suspected of Candida infection)* People with yellow pus in the affected area. (Suspected of bacterial infection)* People with multiple small blisters the size of rice grains to small beans in the mouth, or with blisters and rashes on the lips or skin outside the oral mucosa. (Suspected of viral infection)* People with systemic symptoms such as fever, loss of appetite, general malaise, or swollen lymph nodes. (Suspected of viral infection)(2) People with oral infections. (Due to reports of worsening infections with the use of steroid preparations, do not use if you have oral infections such as pyorrhea or gingivitis.)(3) People whose symptoms do not improve after 5 days of use.(4) People whose symptoms worsen after 1-2 days of use.
