The net-like pattern has been used in tableware designs since ancient times, carrying the wish of "scooping fortune" with a net, meaning to capture good luck.
It also signifies "inseparability," making it an auspicious pattern used at weddings.
The material is 100% cotton. While it may feel a bit stiff at first, it becomes more comfortable and familiar with use, which is part of its charm.
Its simple pattern allows it to blend naturally into various settings, whether in the kitchen, as an accent around the neck, or as interior decor. It's also recommended as a small gift.
**Product Specifications:**
* Size: Approximately 33cm x 90cm* Material: 100% Cotton* Dyeing Technique: Chusen (hand-dyeing)* Production: Japan* Brand Name: Kamawanu
**About Fraying:**
* The both ends of the tenugui are cut. They will fray when you start using them, so please trim the horizontal threads with scissors. After a few washes (2-3 times), the fraying will settle down and become less frequent.
**About Washing:**
* When washing, hand wash with plenty of water, lightly stretch out any wrinkles, and dry away from direct sunlight.* Avoid leaving it wet, such as by soaking.* Excess dye will wash out with each wash when new, but this will settle down after 2-3 washes.* Sudden color loss may occur due to the bleaching effect of detergent.* Using detergents containing bleach or highly alkaline detergents can damage the fabric and cause it to tear.* Using hot water can warm the tenugui, and depending on the dye, it may cause bleeding and lead to color loss.
**Precautions:**
* Occasionally, the tenugui may have a unique smell. This smell is often derived from the dye and will diminish with repeated washing and use. Please use it with confidence.* Colors may vary depending on your viewing environment.
