An exhilarating and refreshing humanistic period drama filled with sword fights, songs, and laughter! This work is a Blu-ray adaptation of "Kemuri no Gundan," which was performed in 2019 as the second collaboration between playwright Yutaka Kuramochi and Shinkansen, following "Ranou."
Arata Furuta plays a sharp-witted strategist, and Narushi Ikeda, who partners with Furuta, plays a cunning, mysterious ronin. Together, they embark on a bizarre journey set in a certain country during a time of war.
The play features witty dialogue unique to Kuramochi's scripts, and Hideki Inoue directs a unique, entertaining period drama that combines dynamism and meticulousness, packed with Shinkansen's signature comedic elements and ample catharsis.
■ Synopsis
The story is set in the heart of the Sengoku period.
Jubei Manaka, living as a ronin with no place to serve, gets caught up in a dispute between daimyo, starting with a commotion at a gambling den over stolen house fees.
Involving a suspicious, smooth-talking house fee thief, a princess who escaped from an enemy daimyo's domain, and her retainer, it leads to a chaotic series of deceptions and betrayals!
