◆About "PSYCHO-PASS"
"PSYCHO-PASS" is an anime series that depicts detectives questioning justice in a near future where people's mental states are quantified. The TV series was broadcast for two seasons on Fuji TV's "noitaminA" slot, and a theatrical film was also released. Furthermore, a new "PSYCHO-PASS" Next Project has begun. "Sinners of the System Case.1 Crime and Punishment," "Case.2 First Guardian," and "Case.3 Beyond the Scales of Vengeance" have been consecutively released since January 2019. Additionally, it was announced that the latest installment in the series, the third TV season "PSYCHO-PASS 3," will begin airing in October 2019 on Fuji TV's "noitaminA" and other channels.
◆Synopsis
Haruto Kusei, an Inspector belonging to the Crime Investigation Department, Division 3, is assigned by the Director of the Public Safety Bureau, Seiei, to investigate a serial murder case. The victim's body was meticulously cut into 18 pieces, each numbered. The crimes were repeatedly committed using the same method: the body parts were conspicuously displayed in four locations in back alleys of the entertainment district.
"Why was the body dismembered? Why were the body parts scattered in four locations? What is the reason for the numbering?"
Kusei, along with Inspector Hiro Kano and the Enforcers from the same Division 3, proceeds with the investigation. While investigating the identities of the victims, they discover that a certain device called the "Chinese Room" is involved in the case.
At that moment, dismembered bodies are scattered throughout the city, causing a Psycho-Hazard aimed at deteriorating the public's latent criminal potential. A militant organization calling themselves "Humanists" claims responsibility for the terrorist act, criticizing the Sibyl System for having serious flaws and announcing further major incidents.
As the investigation progresses, a traitor within the Public Safety Bureau emerges.
What is the "Chinese Room" that holds the key to the case? What are the Humanists' objectives? And who is the "traitor"?
