It is a general term for inflammation characterized by small, shallow ulcers (less than 10mm in diameter) that appear on the inside of the cheeks, tongue, or inside of the lips, with surrounding redness and a white, depressed center. Usually, a few ulcers develop.
It is said that factors such as nutritional imbalance, fatigue, lack of sleep, and stress are involved, but the exact cause is unclear.
