This is a framed poster featuring "Crucifixion (Hyper-dimensional Man)" created in 1954 by the Spanish painter Salvador Dalí.
Dalí is known as a leading painter of Surrealism, and this work was created in 1954 when he had a strong interest in science and mathematics.
Based on the traditional theme in Western art history of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, this piece, which fuses religious motifs with mathematical and philosophical concepts by depicting the net of a four-dimensional hypercube as the cross, is a representative work of Dalí's later period.
Around the age of 40, Dalí became devoted to the Catholic faith and began to produce many religious paintings. This work is one of the pieces born from that period, and it is interesting that it was created only one year apart from his representative work, "The Sacrament of the Last Supper."
The female figure looking up at Christ in the lower left of the image is modeled after Gala, Dalí's muse, dressed as the Virgin Mary.
It is framed with an acrylic cover and an aluminum frame.
